Turtle Rock is a family oriented community near schools, parks, and other recreational facilities. This gated community provides guarded entrances for the security of residents. Children have access to a playground, basketball courts, and a swimming pool. There are 17 lakes and ponds within the community where residents can canoe or kayak. Nature trails can be found throughout the community, and the Legacy Trail is right outside the entrance. The Sarasota Family YMCA is also less than 2 miles away.

Ashton Elementary and Sarasota Middle School are less than four miles away from Turtle Rock. Ashton Elementary School students ranked higher on statewide performance tests than 94 percent of the elementary schools in Florida. Sarasota Middle School ranked higher than 95 percent of middle schools in the state.
